Kay Frances Payton

Kay was born on February 16, 1936, to the late Guy and Lula Slaughterback. She worked as a faithful employee of Hallmark Card Post for many years as well as owning her own Salon business. She attended church at the Alpha Omega Full Gospel Church where she also served as the pianist.

Along with playing the piano, Kay enjoyed reading, traveling, and having a good time. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Everett Slaughterback, Eva Fowler, Violet Southard, and Randall Slaughterback.

Kay is survived by her 2 daughters, Donna Wells, and Cheryl Marsh (Steve); 3 siblings, Martha Brown, George Slaughterback, and Mary Young; 5 grandchildren, Brad Terry (Meredith), Laci Wells (Russell), Joshua Wells (Lauren), Stephen Marsh, and Ryan Marsh (Tatiana); 7 great-grandchildren, Payton, Jackson, Benjamin, Sascha, Eva, Zachary, and Alana.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 2:00 pm ~ 6:00 pm at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 11:00 am at the funeral home with visitation prior to the service.

Kay will be laid to rest in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park following services.
