Julia "Judy" Ann McKnight

Julia "Judy" Ann McKnight, age 81, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023. Judy was born in Bennettsville, Indiana on May 25, 1942 to the late Walter and Susie James. She was a longtime member St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany where she helped clean, decorate the Church, worked in the cafeteria, and helped organize fundraisers. Judy loved to volunteer and help people. She volunteered with Sister Mary Huberta and her First Time Offenders Group, in the gift shop of Floyd Memorial Hospital for over 8 years, serving 2 years as manager, and with the R.S.V.P. and Hope Southern Indiana. A lot of people called her "the soup lady" because she loved making soup and delivering it to people.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie McKnight, and siblings, Mary Ruth Rue (Al), Mildred Renn, John James (Macy), Martha Harbeson (Jim), Douglas James, Susan Sauter (Louis), and Rita Brown (Bob)

Judy is survived by her son, Jason Andrew McKnight (Mary), and grandchildren, Dylan and Megan.

A visitation for Judy will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150. A scripture reading & sharing will occur at 2:00 PM, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St Mary's Catholic Church, 415 E 8th St, New Albany, Indiana 47150.

Judy will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Albany, Indiana 47150.
