My husband was in the market for a new car. Johnny swore that if he went and test-drove the new Hyundai Genesis, he'd love it so much that he'd buy it. Just to prove Johnny wrong (as we all so loved to do just to sass him), we checked it out. My husband bought it.

Johnny kept telling me to drive the car the next time I got my nails done, and to come late at night so that when he was done, he could show me how to drift it. Needless to say, that didn't happen. Even though he was pretty convincing, but I wasn't about to shell out a ton of money for new tires. Plus a speeding ticket. 

But I did drive the Genesis a couple times when my car was in the shop. I'd finish paying for my nails and he'd follow me out to the parking lot. I'd unlock the car, climb in, set my purse in the driver's seat, hook up my seatbelt...and I'd look up and see Johnny standing right in front of my car with a freshly lit cigarette in his hand. I knew what he was waiting for....I'd punch the ignition button and the engine would let out a roar. Johnny would respond with a smile and a series of nods as if to say, "nice...." He was pleased with his arm-twisting, and I couldn't stop laughing at what a car maniac he was.

I'll never forget all the laughs. I'll never forget the flu I caught from him last fall (that my husband also caught and it turned into pneumonia), the time he overheard me take a phone call from the hospital when scheduling a scary surgery (to which he said, "You'll be fine, don't worry" and he meant it), how much he bossed and teased his little nephews around and yet they still smiled at their crazy uncle, and how he would go out and try to scare my goofy Doberman when I brought him in the car with me on a cool fall/spring day.

He was full of life and spunk. Diva Nails is going to be so quiet without him - something I'd always laugh about when he was out of the office, now it's going to break my heart. 

Hugs and prayers always to Sue, Sally, Cathy., and the entire family and customer base of Diva Nails...life will not be the same without him. 

P.S. Johnny, I finally met Sassy yesterday. You're wrong -she's absolutely adorable! And I'm certain she misses you, too. ;)

To the family of Johnny and Diva Nails, I am sorry to hear about the death of Johnny. Sally, Sue, Cathy, Nacy, and family you are in my Prayers.

I called Diva today to make my nail appointment with Johnny and was shocked to hear of his passing.  My sympathy to the Diva staff and his family.  Cathy,sisters and brothers: You are in my prayers.  You will be missed.

Johnny was a customer of mine and a great guy to always talk to. He was down to earth and a genuine person.

Johnny, my dad and I loved you and appreciated each and every time you made us laugh. You always brightened my dad's day when he would bring the mail. I'm so happy I had the great pleasure of knowing you.

... Sally, Sue, Cathy, family and friends - I am so sorry for your loss and hope all of your wonderful memories of Johnny get you through the tough days ahead... Johnny will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.  He was a funny, hard-working young man who made everyone who came into Diva Nails feel special... such a joy!!! Johnny always did my nails, and of course like everyone else he made me laugh & smile the entire time I was there. My heart is deeply saddened. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends for strength and peace during this difficult time. He touched everyone and he truly was the best!

Diva Nails was my go to place for unwinding and getting a good laugh while getting pampered.  Johnny always had a smile on his face and always remembered your name, he was truly a treasure! My thoughts and prayers are with Johnny's family and friends. I've been going to Diva's and seeing Johnny every 2 weeks for the last 4 years. My heart is so heavy today.
