James W. Nelson, 94, of New Albany, Indiana passed away July 24, 2020 at his home. He was born on April 4, 1926 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a veteran in the United States Army and owned Firestone Tire Dealership for over 50 years in Corydon, Indiana. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and was a Gideon.
In addition to his father, James Andrew Nelson, he is preceded in death by his wife, Clara Nelson; three children, Donna Lee Hendrix, James Dale Nelson and Sandra Elaine Nelson.
James is survived by two sons,Scott Barry (Alma Jean) Nelson and Wesley A. (Dianne) Rissler; and a granddaughter, Natasha Rose Nelson.
Visitation and funeral services will be private under the direction of Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road with burial in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
