James Jimmy Thomas Thompson, 73 years of age passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at his home. He was born August 13, 1944 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Merl and Imogene Thompson and was retired from General Electric in Louisville after 30 years of service. Jimmy was an Army Veteran, former member of Silver Street United Methodist Church in New Albany, and was preceded in death by his step-daughter Laura Coy.
Survivors include his wife Edna Thompson, children, James Richard, Christopher Robert, and Christy Ellen Thompson, sisters, Barbara and Peggy, step-children, Glendon and Robert McCowan, 5 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and after 9:00 am Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home chapel with burial and military honors to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
