James Corey

James Corey, 79 years of age died Friday March 24, 2017. He was born January 19, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late James Corey Sr. and Hattie (Smith) Corey. James served his country for some 26 years in the U.S. Air Force retiring as a Master Sergeant. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. He was preceded in death by a son James Wendell Corey III, daughter-in-law Carrie Ann Corey and two siblings Shirley Hodrick and Doris Corey.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years Pamela Jean (Austin) Corey; and seven children, Lawrence, Erick, Vance, Johnathon, Joanne, Jessica and Cassaundra Corey. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 31 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany His funeral service with full military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel. Private burial will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
