James A. Baird

James A. Baird, 79, of New Albany, passed away June 29, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 7, 1941 in Lafollette, Tennessee to the late Ted and Mary Hatfield Baird. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Albany and was retired from Bruce Fox Inc. He was an avid bowler, fisherman and was very active volunteer in his church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sister, Christine Jackson and Hazel Melton; and brothers, Carl Baird and Charles Baird. James is survived by his wife of 45 years Shirley Nelson Baird; children, Donald (Debbie) Baird, Ronald (Robin) Baird, Tamala Baird and Tracy (Arvin) Roberts; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, John (Martha) Baird; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial Mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 415 East Eighth Street, New Albany, Indiana.
