Henry J. “Hank” Klein, 84 years of age passed away August 29th 2011 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. Hank was the son of the late Henry and Elizabeth Klein of New Albany, and son-in-law of the late Rev. William and Chloe Howard of Tompkinsville, Kentucky. Hank was a graduate of New Albany High School and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired as a national buyer from the Kroger Company. He was an accomplished woodworker, and donated countless hours to the making of toys for the Salvation Army, and after he was unable to work in his shop, he donated his tools to the woodworking program at Borden High School.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, the former Wilma Howard. He is also survived by several cousins and special friends, Kevin Harned, and Greg and Patty Henderzahs, who helped take care of him, along with many very caring neighbors.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Thursday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with entombment and military honors to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
