Gordon W. Lamb, 81 years of age died Monday March 19, 2018 at Baptist Health Floyd. One of 12 children he was born April 6, 1936 in Waco, Nebraska to the late George Washington and Anna (Perry) Lamb. Gordon was the former owner and operator of Lamb's Marathon in New Albany from 1962 until 1970, from 1970 until 1990 with Hettinger Shuck Heating and Air, and from 1990 until retirement in 2002 with Lamb's Heating and Air Company.
Gordon was an avid hunter, fisherman, tomato farmer, gardener and most of all loved his family, traveling, and spending time at "The Boat". He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Merle Lamb, Freda "Sis" Schmelz (Bud), Hilda "Bea" Renn (Pete), Murray "Fetter" Lamb (Betty), Annetta "Marie:" Wright (Lloyd), and Evelyn Denhart (Lloyd). Gordon will be fondly missed and remembered by his family and friends.
Survivors include wife Shirley (Davis) Lamb; three children Cynthia L. Knopp (Bill), Gordon R. Lamb (Denise), and Nancy J. O'Donoghue (Dennis); three step-children DeAnn Hancock, Jimmy Hancock (Vera), and Tim Hancock (Lisa); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren. Siblings Gladys "Dutch" Jones (Kenton), Eula Jean Gross, Gale Lamb (JoAnn), Donna Gibson (Paul), and Gerald Lamb (Juanita). Also many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: will be 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday March 22, and after 8 a.m. Friday March 23. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Friday March 23, in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel.
