Gertrude M. Weinmann Gilmore

GERTRUDE M. (WEINMANN) GILMORE, 94, died peacefully at home on Saturday, May 16, 2015. The daughter of the late Henry and Kathleen (Martel) Weinmann, Gertie was born July 31, 1920 in New Albany. She retired from Floyd Memorial Hospital in 1982 after 20 years of service and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Albany and the church Altar Society. Gertie loved spending time with her family and friends and was an avid bowler. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Gilmore; granddaughter, Kim Camm; great grandchildren, Jill and Brad Camm; and 7 siblings. The family would like to thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice for the special care given to their mother.

Survivors include her children, Janice Renn (Frank), Georgie Gilmore, Dennis Gilmore, Eddie Gilmore, Mary Gilmore Wilson, Nelson Gilmore (Cindy), Tony Gilmore (Martha), and Carol Gilmore (Mark Miller); brother, George Weinmann (Helen); sister-in-law, Katie Weinmann; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Visitation from 11:00 am ~ 8:00 pm Tuesday and after 9:00 am Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, IN. There will be a Rosary Service at 6:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Her Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with entombment following in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
