Geraldine Ann Barr Russell

GERALDINE ANN (BARR) RUSSELL, 84 years of age, died Monday, April 5, 2010 at Lincoln Hills Health Center in New Albany. The daughter of the late William Roland and Lillian (Manning) Barr, Gerry was born May 14, 1925 in Brandenburg, Kentucky. She was a banker and retired from First National Bank of Louisville. Gerry was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany where she served on numerous boards and committees over the years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris E. Russell, and siblings Rena Hublar, Carl Barr, William R. Barr Jr., and Garland Barr.

Survivors include her children, Stephen M. Russell (Rebecca F.) of New Albany and Sharon Russell (Robert E. Leist) of Greenville IN; sister, Bea Becht of Floyds Knobs IN; sisters-in-law, Vivian Barr of Corydon IN, Mary Barr of New Salisbury IN

and Carolyn Barr of Indianapolis IN; grandchildren, Jillana Rose Coffman and Jacquelyn Elizabeth Bryant; and great grandchildren, Chloe Cecile Drake and Beatrice Mae Bryant.

Visitation will be 2:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. There will be a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, April 8, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, New Albany.
