Everett E. "Ev" Cox

Everett E. “Ev” Cox, 97 years of age died Tuesday October 9th, 2012 at Westminster Health Care in Clarksville, Indiana. He was born July 20th, 1915 in Dickenson, North Dakota to the late Ralph and Ida Bell Olsen Cox. Ev was a retired plant manager for Crucable Steel Inc. after many years in the steel industry. He was a professional basketball player with the old Young Americans which is now the NBA Los Angels Lakers. Ev lived in Bradenton, Florida for many years after retirement with his wife of 30 years, Dorotha. He loved golf, dancing, and most of all his family and friends. He was a member of Covenant Life Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ruth Hafey.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Dorotha Dowding Cox; four step children, Ray Bottomley and wife Ladonna; Ron Bottomley and wife Sue, Karen Bottomley, David Bottomley and wife Karen; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Reception of family and friends will be from 3:00 pm ~ 5:00 pm Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana with a Memorial Celebration Service at 5:00 pm Saturday October 13th, in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel.
