Estel Eugene Enlow

Estel Eugene “Poppy” Enlow, 82, died Monday, December 9, 2013 at Lincoln Hills Health Center in New Albany. The son of the late Everett and Bernice (East) Enlow, Estel was born July 13, 1931 in Milltown, Indiana. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served in the Korean War. Estel retired from Anco/Votator Division in Louisville as a welder and was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Allison Pfaff.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jessie L. (Cooksey) Enlow; daughters, Susan Williams and Esther Yarbrough (Dave); sister, Ethel Gene Vaughn; grandchildren, Aaron Enlow (Emily), Brittany Lamoureux (Daniel) and Andrea Harp (Kevin); and great grandchildren, Ariana, Amelia and Sullivan.

Visitation will be 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service and Military Honors will be 2:00 pm Thursday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
