Brookdale Assisted Living in Dublin, Ohio over the last few years of her life. She was an active member
of Silver Street United Methodist Church for many years of her life. She was a 1949 graduate of New
Albany High School. She married Wayne Swift Sr. in 1953 at Silver Street UMC. Wayne’s job took them
to Centerville, Ohio, Washington, Pennsylvania and Morgantown, West Virginia before retiring and moving back to New Albany, where Elva’s siblings resided. Elva was the last of her siblings to pass. She was a woman of God and known for her sweet temperament and being soft spoken.
Elva was born on May 22, 1931 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Charles and Mary (Loweth) Keach of
New Albany, Indiana.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Swift Sr. in 2009.
She has two children, Wayne Swift Jr., (Marty) of Columbus, Ohio and Lisa (Swift) Astor, (Denny) of Menlo, Georgia; grandchildren include Michael Crossman (Jill), Jenny Swift, Shelly Erwin (Derek) and Hunter Astor (Ally). She also has five great grandchildren, Ava and Brooke Crossman and Sophia, Natalie & Chloe Erwin.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Kraft Funeral Service at 2776 Charlestown
Road, New Albany, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 23, 2022 in the Kraft Funeral Service Chapel. Private Burial will follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
