Elizabeth "Bette" R. Bartelt
IN THE CARE OF
Kraft Funeral Service & Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park
Elizabeth R. Bartelt, 96, passed away September 2, 2020, at Baptist Health Floyd. Bette was born in April of 1924 in Huntingburg, Indiana to the late Florentine J. and Pauline Woerter Mundy. As a polio survivor, she volunteered to teach students who had polio with the American Polio Association. She was retired from the Greater Clark County School System with over 25 years of service as a Educator. Bette was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ and the Kentuckiana Round Dance Council. She volunteered to play piano at soup kitchens around Kentuckiana.
She is survived by son, Phillip; two grandchildren, John and Meg and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wilford E. Bartelt.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd., New Albany, IN 47150. Entombment will be in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
