Deborah M. Howell

Deborah M. Howell, age 70, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022. She was born August 17, 1952 in New Albany to the late John and Lena Sorg and worked as a seamstress at M. Fine and Sons. Deborah enjoyed going to the the movies, going out to dinner, everything that involved fairies, and spending time at the beach. Some of her most cherished times were spending the summers in Georgia with her great-grandson, Kolten. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Howell Sr., grandson, Tyrone Scott Jr., sisters, Linda Smith, Millie Rush, Connie Freeman, and Cindy Sorg, brothers, Bubby Sorg, Tom Sorg, and Steve Sorg.

Deborah is survived by her children, Michael Caudill, Shannon Coomer (Robbie), Melvin Howell Jr. (Angie), Michelle Mukes (Kenny), and Brian Howell, brother, Tim Sorg (Belita), grandchildren, Haylee and Michael Caudill, Rob Jr., and Josh Coomer, Amber, Jasmine, Melvin III, and Mason Howell, Kelsey Scott, Kendra and Eli Mukes, Tori, Brian Jr, Lily and Bo Howell, 9 great-grandchildren, special niece, Samantha Sorg as well as several other nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Deborah will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, IN. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 6:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Chapel, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, IN.
