David M. Brown, age 70, of New Albany, Indiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023. David was born in New Albany, Indiana to Frank O. Brown, Jr. and Marilyn K. Buchheit Brown on February 18, 1953. David was preceded in death by his parents and a great nephew.
He retired from the United States Army and National Guard after a combined 38.5 years of honorable service. He was stationed around the world and was awarded the Bronze Star. David was employed by Phillip Morris and retired from TARC.
David is survived by his loving wife, Cheri Volz Brown; his cat, Mister; siblings, Nancy Bowman, Pamela (Richard Caldwell) Johnson, Phil (Debbie), Carol (Brian) Thurston, Steve (Becky); and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
A visitation for David will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN 47150. David has chosen cremation with his ashes to be interred at New Albany National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in David's memory to go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Gentiva Hospice.
