Clara Jean (Croslin) Orr

Clara Jean (Croslin) Orr, age 85, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023 surrounded by her family. Clara was born in Russellville, Kentucky on June 27, 1938 to the late Raymus Matthew and Pearl Irene Croslin. They moved to Louisville when Clara was very young.

Clara graduated from Valley High School in Louisville in 1955. She went on to study business. Clara worked as a secretary until she married and began a family. At that time she was blessed to be able to stay home and raise her children. This was one her greatest joys in life.

Clara was very involved with the PTA at her children’s schools. She also volunteered at church. Clara and Bill are members of Indian Creek Baptist Church in Georgetown, Indiana, where they attended until their health made it too difficult.

Clara’s hobbies included crafting, painting, sewing and gardening. The hobbies she shared with her husband were camping, fishing and square dancing.

Along with her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William “Bill” Evans Orr.

She is survived by her children, Renee Gentry, Randy Orr (Marlene); grandchildren, Emily Gentry, Ellen Quinn (Anthony), Justin Orr, and Alex Orr; step-granddaughter, Sarah Clark (Will); great granddaughter, Michaela Quinn; step-great grandsons, Camden and Kyle Clark; siblings, Richard (Ricky) Croslin.

A visitation for Clara will be held Friday, September 1, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN 47150.

Clara will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity she felt very strongly about.
