

Charles was born in 1925 in Mifflin, IN, to Kenna and Anna McGovern Senn. He was the youngest of 12 children, all of whom preceded him in death. He graduated from Henryville High School in 1943 where he was a member of the basketball team. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp following high school and is a World War II veteran. He married Norma Jean Baker in 1947 who preceded him in death in 1984. They were married 36 years and had two sons. He married Berdie in 1986.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in New Albany where he served as a member of the Bishopric and later attended the LDS church in Connersville, IN. Charles lived and worked in Clarksville, IN, 27 years. In 1984 he retired from Public Service Indiana as a foreman. He enjoyed serving at his church, coaching Little League baseball, bowling, playing the guitar, and spending time with friends and family.
Children (and spouses) who survive include Ed (Vicki) Senn, Curt (Kathy) Senn, all of Louisville, KY, Ann McMahel (Bruce) Huntington of Shelbyville, IN, Jon (Jody) McMahel of Knightstown, IN, and Alijene McMahel (Mike) Miller of Milroy, IN.
Grandchildren include Josh (Jennifer) Senn of Ekron, KY, Hannah Senn of Louisville, Chana Marshall of Rushville, Jon-Eric (Brooke) McMahel of Knightstown, Lauren McMahel of Indianapolis, IN, Amanda Miller of Los Angeles, CA, and Bekah Miller (Clayton) Foster of Cheyenne, WY.
Great-grandchildren include Dustin and Dallas Senn of Louisville, Destiny Senn of Henryville, IN, Rylann Marshall of Shelbyville, Bayleigh and Boston McMahel of Knightstown, Brittney (Bryan) Guffy, James and Rickey Senn of Ekron.
In-laws include Wanda Baker Wright of Charlestown, IN, Myrtle Jane Baker Bennett of Carmel, IN, Marjorie Baker (Richard) Johnson of Bloomington, IN, one brother-in-law, Travis Baker of Seymour, IN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His funeral service with military honors will be 12:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home with interment to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
