Calvin Paul Appelhaus, 93, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2022. He was born on October 20, 1928 to William and Lula Appelhaus. He was retired from Padgett Crane Company as a lifetime heavy machine mechanic and was a proud Army Veteran. Calvin volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and was a member of Faith Point United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 34 years, Betty Jean Appelhaus; a daughter, Dana Breeding (John); a stepson, Craig Dodd (Marsha); grandchildren, Allyson Kiesler (Adam), Chris Breeding (Errin), Lewis Dodd and Chad Small; great-grandchildren, Avarey and Wyatt Kiesler, Calvin and Blake Breeding; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Jenalee Juliot Appelhaus; siblings, Jack Appelhaus, John Appelhaus, Leona Byrne and Delmae Hartman.
A visitation for Calvin will be held Friday, October 14, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM.
