Betty Walter Kennedy, 89, of New Albany, passed away April 13, 2021 at the Episcopal Church Home in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on March 8, 1932 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Octave "Jerry" Bernard and Mildred Brown Walter. She was a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church. Betty enjoyed puzzles, she was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed boating with her family. After her husband retired, she and her husband volunteered countless hours greeting guests at the Delta Queen Steamboat. She also volunteered as a guide at Locust Grove.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Patrick Kennedy; a son, Erin Kennedy; and a sister, Hope Johnson.
Betty is survived by four children, Laurie Day (Richard), Danny Kennedy (Debbie), Shawna Nalley (Greg), and Brett Kennedy (Dianna); seventeen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Greg Johnson (Pam).
Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road with a prayer service at 7:30 pm.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 415 E 8th St, New Albany, IN 47150 with burial to follow in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
