SFC Anthony Scott Boren (Tony), of Borden, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at his home. Tony was born on June 3, 1972, in Odessa, Texas; He proudly served his country in the Indiana Army National Guard for 16 years.
Tony was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and Poppy. He loved his family and was a friend to all who knew him. He had a big heart for his country and took care of the comrades with which he served. Tony was an avid outdoorsman and you could always find him working outside on the property that he and his wife DeeDee lived on for over 20 years. Tony also enjoyed hunting, fishing, Jeep nights with friends, off-roading, and listening to music. Tony was deeply loved and will be greatly missed!
Tony is survived by his loving wife, DeeDee Boren of 18 years; four children, Ashley Lutz (Aaron), Tyler Boren (Libby), Tiffany Robertson (Nick), and Megan Wolfe (Jerred); father, Warren Wheeler; mother-in-law Wanda Bartholomai; father-in-law, Gene Bartholomai; eight cherished grandchildren, Jaelynn, Kaeden Scott, Miya, Jordyn, Stoney, Preston, Ava, and Waylon Anthony; a twin sister, Angie Cook (Brian); niece and nephew, Jenna and Seth; brother-in-law, Gary Bartholomai (Abby); and nephews, Logan and Adam; best friend, 1SG Roman Nalley with whom he met while serving in Iraq in 2008; and best friend Adam Allen.
A visitation for Tony will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, starting at 9:00 AM with service to follow at 2:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
Tony will be laid to rest with military honors in Bowery Cemetery, 14400 Memphis Blue-Lick Road, Memphis, Indiana 47143.
