Anna Catherine Korte

Anna Catherine Korte, 77, of Georgetown, Indiana passed away June 21, 2022 at Clark Memorial Hospital. Anna was born on June 4, 1945 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Virgil and Florence Gunn of Lanesville, Indiana. She was retired from the Courier Journal and a former resident of Riverbend Assisted Living. She volunteered for many years at the annual Crusade for Children. She enjoyed offroad racing, camping, fishing, and bowling. She loved to play cards, bunco, and bingo and watch IU basketball. She had also been a member of the VFW and American Legion.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Korte; her brothers, James Gunn and Forrest Gunn; and her sisters, Dorothy Lieber and Ethel Arbuckle.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Janette McCauley (Robert); and grandchildren, Shannon McCauley and Preston McCauley; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Newman, Charlotte Popp, Janie Gunn, and Carolyn Gunn; brother-in-law, Orval (Bud) Arbuckle; and many nieces and nephews.

A gathering to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in Charlestown, Indiana.
