She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Louis E. Hartman, Sr. She had a blessed life and thoroughly enjoyed her retirement years between Herrington Lake in Kentucky and her home in North Port, Florida. Due to her declining health, she returned to her hometown of Clarksville, Indiana to be close to her family always insisting she would return to her home in Florida.
She leaves behind a son, Louis “Ernie” Hartman, a daughter, Carla Newkirk (Eddie), two brothers, Kenny Applegate (Nancy), Roy Applegate (Jan), two grandsons, Brandon McCracken and his wife, Ruthann who she considered a granddaughter, and Nicholas Hartman, along with two great grandsons, Jameson and Walker McCracken.
Due to COVID-19 mandates, her service and burial were private at Kraft Funeral Service and Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
The family requests expressions of sympathy to Hosparus of Southern Indiana or WHAS Crusade for Children.
