Ann Jeanette Baker

Ann Jeanette (Smith) Baker, 82, was born on July 4th, 1941, and passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024. Ann Jeanette was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight, Indiana, and was a graduate of Providence High School. Ann worked many years at Huber Orchard and Winery in Starlight where she retired. Through the years, Ann Jeanette gave and received support; she was a selfless and loving woman and helped others whenever she could. Ann was an amazing woman of faith and strong moral character. She was a great sister, a fantastic aunt, a good friend, and a superb mom—she will be missed by all! Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Callistus and Geneva (Buechler) Smith; her husband, Jim Baker; their daughter, Leanne Margaret Baker and several of her siblings, Evelyn Heiligenberg, Donnie Smith, Ivan Smith, Kenny Smith and CJ Smith. She is survived by her sons, Michael Baker (Tami) and Samuel Baker (Stacy) and daughter, Beth Hardin (Wally); sisters, Charlotte Mooney (Steve), Nancy Smith (John Abel), Brenda Falkenstein (Mark); brother, Glenn Smith (Dawn); five grandchildren, Amy (Steve), Stacey, Chloe E., Cora (Trent), and Steven (Bri); eight greatgrandchildren, Gavin, Gracelyn, Ashleigh (Matt), Chloe M., Jackson, Aria, Macy, and Liam, and three great great grandchildren, Sophie, Millie, and Violet; sisters-in-law, Donna Staser, Kathy Smith, Judy Kocka and Pat Harrison; brother-in-law, Mike Heiligenberg; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Starlight, 8310 St. John Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana 47119. Ann will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery- Starlight. Expressions of sympathy are suggested to C. J.
