While embraced by her family, Gloria Jean Bryan, age 79, went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2012. Gloria was born on Oct. 25, 1932 in Needles, CA and was a member of the Colorado River Indian Tribe. She lived in Needles, CA and graduated from Needles High School in 1950.
In 1958, Gloria and her late husband Rudy moved their family to Barstow, CA due to Rudy’s transfer of his position with the Santa Fe Railroad. In 2002, Rudy and Gloria moved back to Needles, CA. Gloria was an avid fan and supporter of the Needles High School and local youth sports.
Gloria was an active member of the Barstow First Church of the Nazarene then transferred her membership to the Needles Church of the Nazarene.
Gloria is survived by daughter Donna Mendez (Randy); son Rudy Allen Bryan (Peggy); daughters Teresa Bryan (Gabby) and Wanda Bryan; Sisters Martha Morrison (John) and Julia Eddy (Stuart); Brothers Donald Smith (Edith), Phillip Smith and Tito Smith; Sister-In-Laws Wilma Smith, Mildred Fisher and Muriel Henson. Nine grandchildren, Jessica Mills (Darryl); Lydia Rodriguez (JR); Franki Medrano (Jonathan); Marcus Bryan (Kim), Brandon Bryan (Sabrina); David Smith Jr. (Ashley); Gloria Smith; Matthew Smith (Deidre); Gena Chavira; and nineteen great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
A Public Viewing will be held on Friday, June 15 at the Dimond and Sons Needles Mortuary from 6 – 8 p.m.
A Celebration of Gloria’s life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Harvest Bible Church located at the El Rio Business Plaza, 6870 Highway 95, Mohave Valley. Burial will be held immediately following the celebration at the River View Cemetery in Needles.
