It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Siu Yuk Yu on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 90 years.
Mrs. Yu was born on September 1, 1930 in China, married and raised her 6 children while taking care of their home, after coming to Canada she helped her son in his restaurant.
Siu Yuk will be lovingly remembered by her children; Angela Quan (Johnny) of Teulon, Manitoba, Yam Fung Yu (Shirley) of Toronto, Ontario, Check Lam Yu ( Shu Ying) of Winnipeg, Fong Yin Yu (Kat) of Hong Kong, Wing Yu and Wa Yu (Wai Yee) both of Winnipeg. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Chester, Francis, Jennifer, Silver (Ekaterina), Silmond (Cathy) and Florence (Travis) and her great grandchildren, Taiya, Stephen (Faye) and Stephanie (Ben) and great great grandchildren Emily, Kingston, Kaleigha, and Kaeyzn, also a brother and sister in Hong Kong and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Chung and Mei Lan Kwong, husband Yan Kit Yu in 2014.
A private family service will take place in Green Acres Funeral Home and after the service she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
