Marinus "Slim" DeWit

April 18, 1932 – Nov. 14, 2016

Slim peacefully passed away at Concordia Hospital with his family by his side at the age of 84.

He was predeceased by his dedicated wife of 54 years Marge in 2009. Slim is lovingly remembered by his 3 children Debbie (Denis), Shelley (Jim), and Randy; 5 grandchildren Ryan (Nina), Renee, Nicola, Carey, and Carli, and great-granddaughter Kyra “The Little One.” He will also be missed by his brother Case and sister-in-law Milly.

Slim worked construction for many years and then the City of Winnipeg Water Works until his retirement in 1993. Slim had a strong work ethic and organization skills. Everything had a place and was in place! Dad loved to work with his tractors and putter in his shop. He cut and stacked cords and cords of firewood. Dad was such a kind hearted man, always willing to give a helping hand.

Dad, Poppa, Slim, you will be forever in our hearts.

A Celebration of Slim’s life will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway 1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg.
