Peacefully on April 2nd 2012, John passed away at the Victoria Hospital.
John was born in Selkirk and raised at Oak Hammock, Manitoba. He lived in Selkirk until 1990 and then moved to Winnipeg.
He is survived by his sons Jim (Lucille), Alan (Lise), sister Sonja and grand children Christopher, David and Janelle.
He was predeceased by beloved wife Anne, sisters Ann, Nita, Lillian and Teena.
John worked and retired from the Abex Steel Foundry in Selkirk. In his earlier years, he enjoyed picking blueberries in Telford and trips to Winnipeg Beach and its Boardwalk. He enjoyed holidays in Kenora and Clear Lake and later travelled to Australia and New Zealand. His later years were focused on keeping up on local and national news, playing cards, shuffle board, river walks and visits from friends and relatives.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 7, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway #1 East inside the perimeter (at Navin Road) followed by interment and reception.
