Hayley was born on October 19, 1985, and spent her entire life in Winnipeg. Her time was brief but her impact was immense. She loved spending time with family and friends, helping others, reading, animals, and music (especially Bruce Springsteen). Hayley was truly at peace and at home at the lake (Clear Lake and the Whiteshell) where she spent as much time as possible each summer.
Hayley was intelligent, charismatic, thoughtful, and an avid listener who gave sound, uncompromising advice. She was a wonderful sister, niece, cousin and granddaughter who loved her family deeply.
Hayley cherished the memory of her beloved parents, Donna Laurie Rutledge (nee Bateman) and Robert Gerard Rutledge, who both preceded her in death in 2006 and 1999, respectively. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her brother, David and sister-in-law Brooke; her cousins Rachel, Kyle, Lorne, Patrick, Jeffrey, Kevin, and Sara; her aunts and uncles Timothy (Jan) Bateman, Kim (Dave) Jenken, Darlene (Alex) Smith, Donna Rutledge and Ken Jones, Lisa Roy and her grandmother Thérèse Rutledge.
Hayley spent the majority of her adult life working at St. Boniface General Hospital, while also spending time studying nursing at Red River College, where she gained the love and respect of countless friends and coworkers.
Those who knew Hayley will never forget her unique and contagious laugh.
Memorial donations can be made in Hayley's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way. Winnipeg MB, R3T 0R3.
A celebration of Hayley's life will take place on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 2:00pm at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road. Hayley will be laid to rest along with her parents following the service.
Hayley, "we miss you. Everything we do echoes with the laughter and the voice of you. "We are anguished by your loss. Your memory will be with us forever.
