It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Anne Hogan on Tuesday, November 4th at the age of 77. Barbara is survived by her aunts, many cousins, and close friends. She was predeceased by her mother.
Barbara loved her work but also loved the time she spent in Hawaii each year. She enjoyed her times spent at Sugar Bay with all of her cousins.
Her amazing career and rise throughout the investment business started at Greenshields Incorporated in 1959, continued with the Hawaiian Trust Company in Honolulu, Richardson Greenshields, Prudential Bache Securities, and Burns Fry, all in Winnipeg. She ended her career as Vice President of BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2004, 45 years later. She also worked on the Investment Committee for the Winnipeg School Division (non-teaching) and for the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary associated with St. Mary’s Academy.
The family would like to thank her friends, Ken and Diane, for their care and help with Barbara over the past few months as her health failed. We would also like to thank Dr. Sharkey for his many home visits to Barbara and also to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital on 6E, especially Jocelyn, for all the great care they all gave to Barbara.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be on Saturday, November 8th at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Highway #1 East at Navin Road at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place immediately following the service. Honorary pallbearers are Manuel Amorin, Myles Hunt, Sterling Hunt, Ken Proulx, Colin Ryan and Raymond Ward.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Barbara’s name to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Suite 200 Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6 or to a charity of your choice.
