It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Annie Prokipchuk (née Thachuk) on August 25th, 2012 at the Lions Personal Care Centre in Winnipeg at 99 years of age.
Annie will be missed by her children Nick Prokipchuk, Boris (Dorothy) Prokipchuk, Danny (Lynn) Prokipchuk, Eugene (Barbara) Prokipchuk, Audrey (Raymond) Berard and sister‐in‐law Kate (Paul)
Arseny. Annie also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 greatgreat-grandchild and many nieces, nephews and friends. Annie is predeceased by her husband William Prokipchuk, her sons Harry Prokipchuk, Walter Prokipchuk, daughter Elsie (Ron) Anderson, daughter-in-law Barbara (Eugene) Prokipchuk and one son Jarvis and one granddaughter Theresa , both in infancy.
Annie was born June 7th, 1913 in Arbekka, MB and lived most of her life in Vita, Glenboro and Winnipeg. She loved tending to her garden and flowers while living in Vita and Glenboro. She enjoyed making Ukrainian food for family and friends, as she was famous for her delicious perogies and cabbage rolls. She worked for many years in housekeeping at the Glenboro hospital.
Viewing and prayers will be held on Thursday, August 30th at 7:30 pm at Green Acres Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Friday August 31st at 10:30 a.m. in Vita, MB at the Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Miron Pozniak officiating the services. Interment will follow in Vita Cemetery.
