Andrew leaves to mourn his loving wife of 65 years Shirley (nee Evans), sons Brad (Nancy), Craig (Shelley), five grandchildren Kyle (May), Nicole (Shannon), Scott (Ashley), Kevin (Kayla), Kelsey (Robert), five great grandchildren Paisley, Jasper, Nora, Owen, Lily-Rose , sister Aline Marrin (Lindsay) and many nieces and nephews. Andrew was predeceased by son Brent and will be interred together.
Andy was a natural leader and mentor to many working in industrial services. He started and ended his career with Luke’s Machinery and in between the bookends of his career he was one of the founders and builders of Dominion Armature, and DAW Steel. No problem was ever too big or small, and no question not worthy of a thoughtful and encouraging answer. His drive to create, build and repair never waned including his time at Riverview where he was always asking for a small tool kit to be prepared to make a quick repair.
Andy’s passion was the cottage he built on Pinawa Bay where he could be found working tirelessly on his many projects or helping a neighbour. Andy and Shirley cherished the many friendships made there over the past 50 years, Andy was a generous, caring, and patient man, always willing to lend a helping hand with family and friends. Even as it became increasingly difficult for him to do so later in life, he could still make a phone call and offer assistance.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Riverview CD3 for your care and compassion, you are all very special people.
Celebration of life will be held Friday, April 28, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Green Acres Funeral Home Hwy #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg. Interment will take place at a private family event on a future date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation if so desired.
