Peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Foyer Valade, Albert Joseph Dufault passed away at the age of 81 years. Albert is survived by his beloved wife Terry (nee Beaulieu), his daughters Diane (Jim), Louise (Paul), Lucille (Michael) and Joanne (Scott), and grandchildren Brendan, Andrew, Matthew, Lauren, Chanté, Evan and Thomas. Also surviving are his sisters Juliette (David), Yvonne, and Denise, brother Jules (Evelyn), sisters-in-law Brenda and Aline, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Albert was predeceased by his father Narcisse and mother Marie, brothers Rosaire, Joseph, Emile, Lucien, Louis, infant sister Therese, and brothers-in-law Mickey Morin and Julien LeBlanc. Albert was born December 27, 1932 in Saint-Front, Saskatchewan and raised on the family farm. He left the farm at an early age taking various jobs, teaching himself to use many pieces of heavy equipment as he went. Still as a young man, he became a crane operator and continued that work for the remainder of his working years, with Litz Crane Rentals, Sterling Cranes and Dominion Bridge. He was an avid member of Operating Engineers local 987 and was on the executive committee for many years and was honoured as a 30 year member. Albert was dedicated to his family and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He loved golf, cross country skiing and cycling. In his retirement, he loved his walks and coffee get-togethers with "the gang". Albert was also a 10 year member of the Knights of Columbus. The family would like to thank the staff of Unite Marguerite at Foyer Valade for their dedication, care and kindness. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 at Christ The King Church, 847 St. Mary's Road at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
