Rudy San Martin, 88, of Chula Vista, CA, passed away on January 27, 2024. He was born on November 4, 1935, in Palm City, San Diego County, CA. Rudy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
Rudy was known for his kind and generous nature. He had a great sense of humor and brought laughter to those around him. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he took pride in being a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In his career, Rudy worked as a truck driver and in construction transportation. He was a skilled owner/operator and had extensive knowledge about trucks and driving. Whether it was a cement truck or a water truck, Rudy was an expert and could explain every detail. He spent most of his years in the Chula Vista area, where he made friends easily and was loved by everyone he met.
Outside of work, Rudy had a passion for horses, rodeos, and charreria. He enjoyed spending time with his family, helping others, and engaging in conversations. Pumpkin pie was one of his favorite desserts, and he never turned down a slice.
Rudy is survived by his loving wife, Maria Teresa San Martin, his children Diana Conley (Mike), Rudy San Martin (Carlene), Julie Allen, Michelle San Martin, and Monique San Martin. He is also survived by his siblings Mary Blocker, Rose Miranda, Alice Barajas, Delores Ybbara (Fortino), and Lambert San Martin (Laura). Rudy leaves behind a legacy of love, and he will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Gabriel Allen (Jenni), Travis Allen (Valene), Carine Jefferys (Bobby), Logan Conley (Jonquil), and Sativa Braddock (Levi), as well as his great-grandchildren, Elijah Jefferys, Isaiah Jefferys, Cashten Allen, Jaxen Allen, Chase Allen, Mikayla Allen and Oak Braddock. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A crypt side service will be held on February 13, 2024, at 1:30 pm at Cypress View Mausoleum, located at 3953 Imperial Ave. San Diego, CA 92113. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Funeral of Angel in National City, CA
Rudy San Martin will be remembered for his kind heart, his generous and helpful nature, and above all, his zest for life. He has left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever.
