“Pat” passed away peacefully, at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving family, following complications from heart surgery. She is survived by son, Raymond LeRoy Deters III, daughter, Mary Buckley (David), grandchildren Tyler Buckley, Kendra Buckley, and Tanin Deters, brothers Jerry Layton, Ronald Layton (Dorothy), sisters Jean Diesel, Ruth Schneider, and Janet Stoll (Skip), brother-in-laws Richard Brown, and Jim Brennan Sr, Sister-in-laws Shirley Wilsterman (Raymond), Margaret Watson (Charles), Anna Pereira (Jerome), Sister Paulette Deters and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Otto and Edna Layton, husband Raymond LeRoy Deters Jr, daughter Janice Lorraine Deters, brothers Robert Layton (Audrey), Norman Layton (Deanna), sister Marian Brown, brother-in-laws Warren Diesel, Lenard Schneider, Norman Deters (Rita), and sister-in-law Melva Layton.

Pat grew up in East Saint Louis, IL, Kinsey, MO, and French Village, IL with both parents and a loving family of nine children. She graduated Saint Theresa’s Academy in 1953. Pat was a homemaker and part time Network Marketer who had a passion for her family and helping others. Pat was introduced to the world of health and nutrition many years ago and made it her life’s journey to seek out ways to keep her and her family as healthy as possible. She met many lifelong friends along this journey and loved to share her newest discovery with everyone she met.

Services will be held on March 1, 2018. Viewing at National City-Chula Vista Mortuary, 611 Highland Ave, National City, CA 91950, 619-477-4139 from 8am-10am. Funeral Mass at Mater Dei Catholic Church, 1171 Magdalena Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91913 at 11am. Motor Procession to Miramar National Cemetery for burial service at 2pm, where she will be laid to rest in peace and reunited with her husband.
