Tatay Charlie was known for his hard work and dedication, especially being a husband and father. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Cely to whom he was happily married and by his children, stepchildren and grandkids.
The job he enjoyed the most was as a self-employed taxi driver in Guam. He was given the chance to connect with and meet new people and discuss life stories and experiences that brought him joy and excitement.
Beyond his professional life, Charlie had a wide range of hobbies that made him happy. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, singing, watching movies, tv shows and boxing fights. Charlie had a deep appreciation for music, but really loved rock and roll classics.
Tatay Charlie never dipped into sadness, never complained. He had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed. He was a simple man who was satisfied with how things were, but the time he spent with the people he loved, he cherished every moment of it.
A viewing with family to share our memories will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 1pm to 8pm.
Charles “Charlie” Smithers will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will live on through the laughter he brought, and the love he shared with those around him.
