RITTER, JR., William “Bill” Kasper, age 84, died January 9, 2013. Preceded in death by parents Mamie L. Quinn and William K. Ritter, Sr. Survived by wife Patricia A. (Marchant) Ritter; sons William K. Ritter, III (Virginia) and Frederick H. Ritter; sister Phyllis (Henry) Pace of Oxford, MS; sister-in-law Barbara Marchant Koch of Muscle Shoals, AL; granddaughters Evelyn and MacKenzie McLean; and cousin Carol (Alex) Gatewood of Alabama, nieces and nephews Tom (Sherry) Sullivan (North Dakota) and Mike (Sheryl) Sullivan of Minnesota, Kate Sullivan Distel of Arizona; Jennifer and Joe (Marsha) Pace of Mississippi; and James (Nikki) and Kevin Koch of Alabama; extended family members; and many friends. A native Nashvillian, Bill was a graduate of West High School, attended Peabody College, and served as a corporal in the U.S. Army in Pusan, Korea. He was an avid golfer whose beloved golf buddies remember him as the “Commish.” He often fondly remembered his West High lunch group. Bill was a third-generation member of Second Presbyterian Church in Nashville, and for years was the oldest living member of the church having accepted the Lord as his Savior in 1937. In recent years, he attended Belmont United Methodist Church. Memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs, Keith Stapleton officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Bill’s honor to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203, or the charity of your choice.
