William Douglas Fox, age 94, born in Greensboro, North Carolina on December 11, 1925 to Lloyd Preston Fox and Lessie Jane Newell passed away on February 27, 2020. Mr. Fox is also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Fox; daughter, LuAnn Fox; brother, Harold Fox; and grandson, Ryan Nelson.
Mr. Fox is survived by his three children; Rosemary (Rob) Nelson, Melinda Fox, and David (Martha) Fox; sister Evelyn Edwards; grandchildren; Jimmy, Brock, John, Rhett, Kelsie, Courtney, Drew, and Dawson; eleven great-grandchildren and 16 Foster grandchildren.
William, a true man of god, had a strong faith, and was a longtime member of Brentwood Baptist Church. He was not only honorable and Godly, but also a great dad, husband, and grand-dad. He served in the Army Air Core for four years where he served in the WW2 and was honorably the quarter millionth vet discharged. After retirement, he worked over twenty years writing permits for the city of Brentwood. Mr. Fox also enjoyed crossword puzzles and was quite the jokester.
A Gathering of Family will be held on the afternoon of Sunday, March 1, 2020 from one o’clock until one forty-five at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow in Woodlawn’s Memorial Park.
