William Davis Nashville, TN William H. (Buddy) DavisWilliam passed away on Saturday, January 24 after a long illness. He was born on November 19, 1930 to Bettie and Darden E. Davis, Sr.William is a East High School alumni, Korean War Veteran (1950-1953) serving in the U.S. Air Force, Served with the Tennessee Army National Guard (30th Armored Army Aviation) for 15 years, and Retired from Western Electric/AT&T after over 30 years of service.Survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara J. (Murray) Davis; brother, Darden E. Davis, Jr.; daughters, Cynthia Davis, Kimberly Hutchison, Bettie Lynn Christianson; grandsons, Jacob D. (Kathy) Perryman, Michael T. (Nicole) Perryman, William Joe (Daisy) Christianson, Andrew (Alexandra) Christianson, Taylor (Sara) Hutchison; thirteen great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Izzy, Lily Mae, Madison, Jake, Shannon, Serenity Lynn, Destin, John, Justis, Arianna, Ashten William, Virginia.He was a devoted father and grandfather, affectionately known as "Pawpaw". He volunteered for several years with South Hills Little League and was instrumental in all aspects of the building and running of the league while his grandsons played ball. He was known as "Mr. D." He loved all things military and enjoyed watching military history.The family wishes to thank Dr. Gertrude Stone, Dr. Steven Humphrey, and Dr. Clara Womack for their dedicated care and kindness during his lengthy illness. The family would also like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Southern Hills ICU for their excellent care during his final days.Visitation will take place on Monday, January 26, from 4 o'clock until 8 o'clock in the evening at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, January 27 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The graveside service will be officiated by Rev. Charles Worrell and grandsons will serve as Active Pallbearers. Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force.
