When War Oo was very young, his family moved to Nashville as part of the US Refugee Resettlement Program from the refugee camp in Thailand where he was born. War Oo graduated from La Vergne High School in 2022. He was the first of his family to earn a high school diploma. After graduation he join the United States Marine Corp. War Oo attended the US Marine School House Training at Camp LeJeune in North Carolina where he graduated at the top of his class with a grade of 99.86. While at the school house he received the Americhoice Promotion and Certificate of Achievement from the United States Marine Corp Association. At Camp Pendleton in Oceanside California, he was in training as an electrician. He loved soccer and mentioned that he loved getting stronger and building endurance during his training in the Marines.
War Oo is survived by his father, Pu Klu and wife, Mu Yo, mother Paw Bway; brother, Lah Htoo; sister, Mu Thoo, and Tha Dah Paw; along with a step brother, and 2 half siblings.
A gathering of family & friends for War will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
