He was a native Nashvillian born on November 6th, 1943. Walter proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he exemplified dedication to his country. His service was then followed by his pursuit and desire to practice law. He embarked on his legal academic journey with an undergrad from Vanderbilt University and law degree from the University of Tennessee, where he honed his legal skills and launched a career that would go on to span nearly five decades.
For over 48 years, Walter served as an esteemed attorney with Nashville, Tennessee's prestigious and oldest law firm, Waller Lansden Dortch and Davis. His unwavering commitment to the law and his clients earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues, clients, and the community.
In addition to his legal career, Walter enjoyed time spent fishing and traveling. He was also an avid researcher with a passion for ancestry, serving as a dedicated family historian, sharing his stories and admiration for the individuals and connections that tied him and his loved ones to their roots.
Walter is survived by his devoted companion and wife of 55 years (September 16th, 1967), Ruth Reeder Crouch, along with several nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
