Virginia Sanders Russell

Virginia Sanders Russell, born July 5, 1919 in Nashville, TN and went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 1, 2014 after a lengthy illness. She was an original member of S. 5th Street/Eastview Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by husband, Preston S. Russell; parents, George D. and Effie Sanders; sisters, Georgia Martin Gentry and Sarah Fussell; daughter-in-law, Jennette Helton Russell and grandson, Eddie Wayne Clark, Jr.

Survived by sons, Robert P. Russell (Janet), Fred L. Russell; daughters, Virginia "Sissy" Clark (Eddie Wayne Sr.), Freida (Jimmy) Banniza, and Chyril R. Bobbitt; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.

She worked for Vultee Aircraft Corporation during WWII, Standard Candy Company in the 1950's and retired from Metro Action Commission.

A Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2014 at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held today from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday from 12-4 p.m. prior to the service at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
