Thomas (Tom) George Luken passed away on March 5, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Therese Doyle Luken, his 8 children: Tony Pigue (Cindy), Georgi Luken Watson (Duncan), Annette Pigue Hurley, Laurie Luken Guarneri (Chuck), Carol Pigue Holmes, Luke Luken (Wendy), Troy Pigue and Briana Luken Shacklett (John); his 27 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren plus 3 great grandchildren due in 2021; his sisters: Ann Luken Mayfield (Gary), Mary Lee Luken Dorough (Jim), Janet Luken Mann(Rob), and his brother George ("Buddy") Luken (Johnnie). He was preceded in death by his parents George C. Luken and Lenora HilvertLuken.
He was a graduate of Christ the King School, Father Ryan High School and attended the University of Tennessee, respectively. Tom worked for Luken Supply Company since 1965, a company his father started and then after his passing, became the President until he retired in January 31, 2019. Some of
his proudest accomplishments were: a Third Degree Knights of Columbus, a member and past President of MTIDA, an Eagle Scout, St. Edward football coach for 5 years along with starting the Parochial league for 4th, 5th & 6th graders and Father Ryan Class of 1960 Breakfast group. Tom's hobbies were fishing
(especially bass fishing) and hunting (especially deer hunting). He was an avid football fan of UT Vols and Tennessee Titans. He enjoyed his vacations to the beach and his 2 European trips.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Sunday, March 7, 2021 from two until five o'clock in the afternoon at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Monday, March 8, 2021 at St. Edwards Catholic Church, The family wants to express their thanks and gratitude for the loving care to Traditions of Smyrna and Avalon Hospice.
