A fourth generation Nashvillian, Tom was born May 2, 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents Reba Harris and Thomas Francis Corcoran, Jr. and his nephew, Ronald Todd Gray.
Tom graduated from Christ the King School and Montgomery Bell Academy, where he was named a member of Totomoi Honor Society. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Tom served our country and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Tom established a career in commercial real estate brokerage in Dallas, which ignited his entrepreneurial passion. He returned to Nashville in 1983, and along with his partner, formed Corcoran/Maddox Companies. In 2008 he founded Crestview Funds as a generational investment entity, and he was proud when his son, Tom, joined him in this venture in 2018. He served as a commissioner and vice mayor to the City of Belle Meade and on the Harding Academy Board of Trustees. He was a member of Belle Meade Country Club and a communicant of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Tom is survived by his wife, Jane Buchanan Corcoran, and their four children, Rachel Courtney King, Langhorne King Coleman and her husband, Andrew, Katherine Corcoran Sias and her husband, Billy, and Thomas Francis Corcoran IV and his wife, Francie, and grandchildren Eleanor Jane Coleman, Mark Alexander Coleman, and William Henry Sias III. He is also survived by his sisters Catherine Agnes Corcoran and Patricia Corcoran Gray and his nephews Edward Thomas Gray and John Tobias Gray.
Tom was devoted to his dog, Ike, who retrieved countless golf balls to the benefit of many family and friends. Jane said when she met Tom her friends all called him “Mr. Wonderful,” a title he lived up to for the next 35 years. Tom and J
ane loved their daily walks together and spending family time at their Center Hill home, Crestview.
A visitation will take place at Christ the King Catholic Church (3001 Belmont Blvd) in Parish Hall from 10:00 to 11:45 am on Saturday, November 23 with the funeral Mass immediately following at noon in the sanctuary. Tom will be laid to rest overlooking nature and Center Hill Lake at their family home.
