Susanne Brown Kiefer

Susanne Brown Kiefer, born April 25, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee to Randal Edward Brown and Ann Pogue Brown, passed away August 31, 2020 surrounded by her family. Susanne is also preceded in death by her loving stepmothers, Nancy Hill Brown and Jane Kennedy Brown; her brother, John Randal Brown; and, her husband Don Kiefer.

Susanne is survived by her siblings, Randal Edward Brown (Kristen), Robert McChesney Brown (Maria), James Allen Brown (Jerri) and Nancy Brown McAllister); children, Leslie Roberts Dabrowiak (John) and Joseph McCall Roberts III (Chrissie); and her grandchildren, Elle Noveshen, John Lars Dabrowiak and Joseph Ames Dabrowiak.

Susanne was a graduate of The Harpeth Hall School (Class of 1964) and attended Florida State University where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She loved cooking and entertaining for friends and family, celebrating the holidays and throwing lavish tea parties for friends’ granddaughters. She was the most amazing mother and grandmother. She was a friend to everyone and ALWAYS saw the best in people. Her friends were also her family, and everyone loved her! She enjoyed traveling everywhere from Europe to Key West with her beloved stepmother and dear friend, Jane Kennedy Brown.

A devoted animal lover, Susanne always had a dog under her feet and none so special as her glamorous mutt, “Sweetie Pie”. She also collected bunnies much to the delight of her grandchildren who couldn’t wait to visit “The Bunny Room” on their visits to Sevierville. Susanne once drove 100mph to Nashville in order not to miss the birth of her grandson Lars! Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and she reveled in sharing their adventures, accomplishments both large and small and interests of all kinds.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Susanne asked that donations be made to her favorite charities, the Nashville Humane Association (www.nashvillehumane.org) and Sevierville Humane Society (www.sevierhumane.org).
