On October 29, 2021 Stephen Andrew Snyder “Stevie”, “Steve” or “Stego”, by the grace of God, entered into heaven where he will rest in eternal peace along with his mother, Rose Mary Snyder. Steve was born on January 11, 1960 and was the fourth of six children. He grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and attended St. Pius X Parochial School and Father Ryan High School where he graduated in 1978. He would go on to receive a vocational degree from Nashville State Technical Institute and worked in the technology field for several different companies. His most recent job was at Fortitude Re where he was the Finance Systems Support Analyst.
Stevie’s passion and love was seen most in raising and being with his son, Andrew, who graduated from JPII and is now in his senior year at The University of South Carolina. Stevie loved coaching youth sports and spent countless hours investing his time and talents coaching baseball, football, and basketball. Steve had a gift for reaching young people and most notably coached the 2012 Goodlettsville All-Stars to represent the United States in the Little League World Series Championship. Stevie was always a kid at heart and will never be forgotten by the players that were on his team. They all loved Coach Stevie.
When not coaching, you could find Stevie in the stands at the Titan’s games with Duff, Tony and Ken, at his home fixing a bike for a neighborhood kid, or at his recently purchased lake lot at Dale Hollow with Cheryl drinking his beloved Cherry Coke. Stevie planned to create a getaway, not just for him, but for family and friends to use as well. Fun, charitable, kind, sweet, selfless, unflappable, and laid back were just a few words used to describe Stevie, because he truly was a good man who loved people. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and his family will cherish the memories of his kindness and willingness to drop whatever he is doing to lend a hand. His family all agree: We all need to be more like Stevie.
Steve is survived by his son Andrew Snyder, the love of his life Cheryl Wood (Daley and Clay), his father Charles Snyder Sr., siblings Charles Snyder Jr.(Stacy), Regina Trainor (Raymond), Tony Snyder (Jeanie), Becky Hickman (Greg) Danny Snyder (Karen), and nephews and nieces Gaia Robilio (Lily), Anna Robilio, Alex Robilio, Daniel Snyder, Kendall Phillips (Taylor), and Chase Snyder.
He was preceded in death by his mother Rosemary Snyder.
