Shirley Ann "Mimi" Edwards, age 74, departed this life on July 5, 2020. She was born on August 30, 1945 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late William and Ernestein Mise Mayberry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Johnny W. Edwards, Sr.; son, Johnny W. Edwards, Jr.; siblings, James Mayberry, Ed Mayberry, Norma Cox, Wilda Hollis and Nelda Alley.
She is survived by her sons, Shannon Edwards and William Edwards of Mount Juliet, TN; Grandchildren, Lauren Edwards and Blake Edwards; brother, William H. Mayberry and a host of nieces and nephews.
Shirley had a generous heart and spirit which was shown daily in her words and actions. She was affectionately known as "Mimi" by neighbors, friends, her children and grandchildren. She was a blessing to her children and her grandchildren. "Mimi" always had a outpouring of love by those that knew her.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends from eleven o'clock in the morning until one o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Woodlawn-Roesch- Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at one o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, July 11, 2020 in Dignity Hall at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with Interment to Follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family requests that all in attendance, please remember to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. For those who are uneasy in attending the Celebration of Life in person, the service will be broadcast "Live" on Facebook, @WoodlawnRoesch.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to , St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center.
