Rodney Dean Davis

DAVIS, Rodney Dean Age 67, was welcomed lovingly into heaven Thursday, February 16, 2012. Preceded in death by parents, Gladys Jo Williams Davis and Douglas Davis and step son, Robert Davis. Survived by daughter, Rhonda Davis Dorn (David); granddaughters, McKenna and Maddie; brother, Timothy Davis and sisters, Sandi Watson and Patricia Dent; cousins, James Goodman, Dolly Neal, Milton Neely and a host of relatives and friends. Rodney was born in Portsmouth, VA on January 4, 1945. He lived in Moberly, MO where he met and married Margaret Gerdeman Davis. They moved to Nashville, TN where he lived a number of years until he moved to Biloxi, MS and worked offshore for an oil company, eventually relocating back to Nashville, TN. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and camping. Papa adored his granddaughters and his little dachshund Dexter. Rodney was the biggest presence in any room, a practical jokester and the best father anyone could have and an even better grandfather. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Hibbett and Hailey Chapel. Visitation with family will be from 11-1, prior to service.
