Bobby was born to James R. Patterson and Velma S. (Sylvis) Duty on August 17, 1954, in Nashville, TN. As a child, Bobby was active in church, the scouts and sports.
Bobby met his wife, Mary Ann in 1994 after her car broke down on the side of the road. They married in 1996 and blended their families as one with son Robert Derek Patterson; stepsons Shawn McAneny and Scott McAneny; and stepdaughters Alison McAneny and Michelle McAneny.
In addition to being a dedicated husband and loving father, Bobby also loved his church family, playing sports, and "The Big Orange" TN Vols. Throughout his entire life, Bobby held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.
Bobby joins his father, James R. Patterson in heaven.
He is also preceded in death by his sister in law Jamie Patterson.
Bobby is survived by his mother, Velma S. Duty; wife, Mary Ann Patterson; son, Robert Derek Patterson; stepsons Shawn McAneny and Scott (Lindsey) McAneny; stepdaughters Alison McAneny and Michelle McAneny; grandson Preston Patterson; brothers Randy (Angela) Patterson and Danny (Debbie) Patterson; and a host of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and a great-nephew.
The family would like to thank the Amedysis Hospice Team for their unwavering show of faith, love, support, and encouragement during Bobby's final journey. The family would also like to thank our Donelson Church of Christ family, our neighbors, our friends, and all others who took the time to extend love, support and encouragement to our family and most importantly, to Bobby. We truly are deeply humbled and forever grateful for your love.
Funeral services will be at Mt. Olivet Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Visitation with the family will be 10 am to 12 pm outside under the portico facing the cemetery. Graveside services will follow from 12 pm to 1 pm with Russ King officiating. The family requests that all attendees wear a mask to protect the safety of all.
